Safety Direct's Energy-Absorbing D-ring Extender, also known as shock-absorbing extension lanyard, attaches to the back D-ring of a harness lengthening the tie-off point allowing an easy and safe connection which also provides an energy-absorbing component for a restraint lanyard that is shorter than 52 inches. When calculating free fall and fall clearance distances, it is important to include the fully extended length of the dorsal extension.
